How to play the lists, and win daily!

Lists are like music, and if you know how to play them, you can become an overnight success.

Lists are like a chess game. If you know the moves, you increase your chances of winning.

Lists are like a fine wine, open them gently.

Yes, the money is in the list but,

- Which lists?
- What kind of lists?
- What makes a good list?
- Where do you find good lists?
- And when you do,

How do you play one off against the other and win?

Welcome, everyone.

There is a lot more to mailers than meets the eye.

Today I am going to open your eyes so you can understand lists better, use them one with another, and get the most out of each one.

Today we will be talking about lists.

All kinds of lists:
  • Small lists
  • Medium lists
  • Big lists
  • Free lists
  • Paid lists
  • Targeted lists
  • Lead lists.
  • One of a kind lists
  • Lists that combine traffic
We are going to show you how to play them and win.

I am going to log into a few of them and show you where the strengths are and how to use them, so they play well with each other.

But first I want to ask you a couple of questions to get you thinking about lists and to set the stage for list playing.
Question 1 - What is a send score?

Answer: It is a score that ISPs use that tells you if someone who owns a list has a good delivery rate (high send score).

Phil and I have a send score of 97 which is very very high. This score means we keep out lists clean and have a bounce checker on them and delete people if they have not logged into our lists in 6 months.

If you have a score over 90, you are considered a good sender or a good steward of email.

People who mail through our lists have a 97% chance their emails will get through and into someone's inbox, but that is only the beginning of the story.

And this brings me to question 2.

Question 2 - If your emails are not getting through what do you think some of the reasons might be?

Answers:

1 You are using spam words in both your emails and subject lines.

2) You are sending the same subject lines out to similar lists on the same day and if someone uses Gmail and is a member of many lists they are only going to see your message once because Gmail bundles them under the one subject line.

You want your message to be in your face all the time, so people remember them.

3. Another reason is if you do not use your lists regularly. Like daily, every two days, once a week or whenever you are supposed to mail. ISP's look for consistency.

If your emails all of a sudden come out of nowhere because you have not established a mailing routine, you can end up in spam.

Okay, now let's log into some lists and see how to capitalize on what they have to offer.
LIST 1 - PROFIT FROM FREE ADS.
PFFA is a medium size list with a whole lot of paid members on it and big gun marketers. It has over 7,000 members.

If all the lists in the world were about to close down and I could only keep one, Profit from Free Ads (PFFA) would be the one I would choose.

I want to bring two things to your attention concerning this list.

1. It is a responsive list with high click-thru rates. Not only will it get your message in front of buyers but we post your emails to our ad profit page on the main sales site which reaches over 5 million visitors a month.

Your emails are placed right smack dab in the middle of the ad profit page, so they get clicked on the most.

2. Also, we have a large number of paid members especially Ad Pack 7 members on our list.

These are sophisticated buyers who are not afraid to take some dough out of their pocket to try new things.

Members that spend money is a big bonus on any list and put it heads and shoulders above most of the lists I use online.
 
List 2 - FRONTPAGE MAIL and KULEBUZZ MAILER
Front Page Mail is a must have. I was hard-pressed to know if I should start with FrontPage Mail or PFFA since one works with the other really well.

Let's log into front page Mail

Front page mail is a list of 1,900 plus members.

It is a small list but in this case, size is not so important because your emails can get action from 11 other places when you use FrontPage Mail.

This list should be one of the mainstays of your marketing because you can attach keywords to both the FrontPage mailer as well as these 11 other mailers and blogs.

BOTTOM LINE
1. You must establish a routine for the lists that you belong to and mail to them regularly whenever you are scheduled to mail. Send your offers on the same days, and roughly the same times.

2. Use keywords from FrontPage Mail on 11 other sites to get your messages onto page 1 of Google.

3. Lists have different characteristics.
